The Lotus flower is regarded in many different cultures, especially in eastern religions, as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. Its characteristics are a perfect analogy for the human condition: even when its roots are in the muddiest waters, the Lotus produces beautiful flowers most commonly known as ‘Waterlilies’.

The primary reason for choosing this theme for Chelsea’s blog is she emanates the qualities of the Lotus flower. And a future Clinton dedicated to Public Service and as Director of the Clinton Global Initiative.

The Meaning of the Lotus Flower According to Buddhism:

“According to Buddhism, every person has the potential to become perfect and enlightened, and it is just a matter of time until each human reaches the light. Buddhists believe that it’s necessary to be reborn thousands of times, polishing one’s being through many incarnations, until one reaches nirvana – the highest state of consciousness that humans can access.

The journey of the consciousness from spiritual ignorance to perfection happens through many rebirths and can be very painful and difficult, as the process of reincarnation involves the need to repair past mistakes at every new life and one faces the consequences of every action, thought and words. While humans are not conscious of their spiritual greatness, they believe that life is unfair and worthless, but as they evolve through many cycles of death and rebirth, all the darkness is slowly removed.”

Chelsea Victoria Clinton Mezvinsky is a beautiful woman inside and out. She has chosen to follow in her parents footsteps carving out her own niche helping to make the World a better place for you and me. We will be seeing her in a much more public way getting to know her better and learn about the innovative ideas she is ready to put into action. From imparting the knowledge she has gained as the First daughter of the 42th president and from her mother our former First Lady, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. On July 31, 2010, Chelsea Victoria Clinton married investment banker Marc Mezvinsky in an interfaith ceremony in  Rhinebeck, New York

The venue for the nuptials was Astor Courts, a 50-acre, 1902 Beaux-Arts estate on a bluff overlooking the Hudson River. The estate at that time was the home of Hillary Clinton supporter Kathleen Hammer, once a producer at Oxygen Media, and Arthur Seelbinder, a developer and businessman.

Mezvinsky was born December 15, 1977 to former Iowa Democratic congressman Edward Mezvinsky and former Pennsylvania Democratic congresswoman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, and is one of their 11 adopted and biological children. He was raised in the Conservative Jewish tradition.

The Clintons and the Mezvinskys were friends in the 1990s and their children met on a Renaissance Weekend retreat in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. They first were reported to be a couple in 2005, and became engaged over Thanksgiving weekend in 2009.

Marc was a Goldman Sachs investment banker, and, at the time of the marriage, an investment banker at 3G Capital Management. Marc and partners Bennett Grau and Mark Mallon are teaming up  for their new firm, Eaglevale Partners LP,  which plans to start trading in the first half of 2012. The fund will employ a global macro strategy, seeking to profit from economic trends by trading securities from bonds to commodities. The couple live in New York City’s Gramercy Park neighborhood.

Chelsea’s newest role as wife to her husband Marc, her long time sweetheart and soul mate Marc Mezvinsky. A wonderful guy married to  a wonderful woman, a perfect couple. So without further adieu- here they are  celebrating their First Anniversary in France, Mr and Mrs Marc Mezvinsky.

The couple, who tied the knot in Rhinebeck, N.Y., last July, were all smiles as they made their way through NYC's Kennedy Airport on July 27 en route to Nice.
